It’s really important to have good friends. We need people in our life to help build us up and help us in our walk with Jesus. We should have good friends, but we should also BE a good friend, even to people who aren’t that great of a friend for us. God wants us to have a positive influence on people, but He doesn’t want us to let them have a negative influence on us. Jesus was friends with “sinners”, but he never let their sin become his sin. We need to be incredibly careful. It’s a lot easier to be pulled down than it is to pull people up. If you’re not being diligent about the ways you allow your thoughts and behaviors, bad company will corrupt good character. If you have bad friends, you might need new friends.
